GTA 6 | Pre Order and Release Date

GTA 6 Pre Order and Release Date - As of May 14, 2026, the one solid, official anchor for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is its release date: November 19, 2026, and the most important thing to know about pre-orders is that Rockstar is still in the wishlist phase, not the “pay now” phase.

GTA 6 release date (official)

GTA 6 Pre Order and Release Date

Rockstar’s official GTA VI hub lists the game as “Coming November 19, 2026” and only names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as platforms.

Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) has also publicly stated in its investor materials that Rockstar Games will release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, which is about as “official” as it gets outside Rockstar’s own channels.

On the PlayStation Store, GTA VI’s page shows the release as 11/19/2026 05:00 AM UTC. Storefront times can function as rollout targets (and sometimes placeholders), but it’s still useful as a reference if you’re trying to plan the minute it becomes playable in your time zone.

Why people keep seeing different dates (the delay timeline)

Part of the confusion comes from the fact that GTA 6’s public timing has moved more than once. For example, in May 2025 Rockstar announced a delay to May 26, 2026 (from a broader 2025 window), and later the date shifted again to November 19, 2026. If you’re seeing “May 2026” on old articles, old videos, or recycled social posts, that’s usually why.

The practical takeaway is simple: if a page doesn’t clearly reflect the November 19, 2026 date (or it refuses to cite Rockstar/Take-Two), treat it as outdated at best and misinformation at worst.

Is GTA 6 available for pre-order yet?

Right now, GTA 6 is not officially available to pre-order on the PlayStation Store page that Sony is publicly showing to US users; it’s labeled “Announced” and offers an “Add to Wishlist” button rather than a purchase button with a price.

Rockstar’s own GTA VI hub mirrors that “not selling yet” state by pushing wishlisting (with “Wishlist Now” links to PlayStation and Xbox) instead of advertising pre-order editions, prices, or a pre-load date.

On Xbox, Microsoft’s GTA VI page exists and confirms the game is intended for Xbox Series X|S, but it likewise does not present a normal “pre-order now” purchase flow in the page content that’s currently visible.

Where GTA 6 pre-orders will go live (when Rockstar flips the switch)

When pre-orders do open, the safest assumption is that the first truly “real” links will be the official platform storefronts (PlayStation Store and Xbox/Microsoft Store) and then major, verified retailers for physical copies. The reason is basic: Rockstar can announce a date on its site, but the actual transaction systems and entitlements are handled by Sony/Microsoft (digital) and established retail partners (physical).

Until Rockstar announces pre-orders directly, you’ll keep seeing “leaks” and “insider emails” floating around. Some may end up being accurate, but they’re not a substitute for an official announcement—especially because retailer systems can also contain placeholders, outdated dates, or internal promo windows that the public misreads as the real launch of pre-orders.

Price, editions, and pre-order bonuses (what’s confirmed vs. rumor)

As of today, Rockstar has not publicly pinned down a GTA 6 price, nor has it officially detailed Standard/Deluxe/Collector’s editions or pre-order bonuses on its main GTA VI hub—another clue that you’re still early in the sales cycle.

That hasn’t stopped the internet from guessing, including recurring chatter about a higher-than-usual price tag. The important thing, if you’re writing an article meant to stay accurate, is to label anything about price tiers, special editions, early-access perks, or bonus items as unconfirmed until Rockstar posts it (or until the official console storefronts show real SKU pricing).

Platforms (and the PC release question)

Officially, Rockstar’s GTA VI hub currently lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which is why most reliable coverage describes the launch as console-first.

Separate reporting around Take-Two leadership commentary also points toward GTA 6 not launching on PC on day one, consistent with Rockstar’s historical pattern of console-first releases. Even if you expect a PC version eventually, the pre-order story you’re writing today should center on the confirmed console storefronts—because that’s where Rockstar is directing players right now.

How to avoid fake GTA 6 pre-order pages (and other scams)

Whenever a game is this anticipated, scammers copy logos, make realistic-looking “pre-order” checkout pages, and sell “beta access” that doesn’t exist. The simplest safety rule is: if it’s not the official PlayStation Store, the official Xbox/Microsoft Store, or a major retailer you already trust, don’t enter payment details—especially before Rockstar itself has said, publicly, that pre-orders are live.

If you want a low-effort way to stay ahead without taking risks, wishlisting through the official store pages is the clean move, because storefront notifications are designed for exactly this moment: they alert you when the “wishlist item” becomes purchasable or pre-orderable without you having to chase rumors across social media.
