Pokemon Charmander New Evolution, Fans Torn Over

A fresh leak claiming to reveal details about Pokémon’s 10th generation is making waves online — not because of new gameplay mechanics or exotic locations, but because it includes a rather baffling twist: a regional Charmander that’s… Ground-type? Wait, what?

Pokémon’s 10th generation Leak

This supposed Gen 10 leak, which surfaced on 4chan over the weekend, is the latest in a long line of anonymous posts about the next Pokémon title — which many assume will launch on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. And boy, is it making some bold promises.

According to a tweet from the Hidden Power Podcast account, the new games will be titled Pokémon Gales & Tides and are set to introduce a trio of new starters: a Fire-type Goat, a Water-type Octopus, and a Grass-type Snail. The game world will reportedly consist of “16 main islands and over 150 smaller ones,” and a fresh gameplay mechanic called “Gigaxis” is said to allow Pokémon to transform into Guardian-style legendaries.

Despite all these claims, the internet seems hung up on just one thing: the idea of Charmander — Charmander — getting a Ground-type variant.

Before that, of course, we still have Pokémon Legends: Z-A coming.

“I don’t even care about the rest of the leak — just stop giving us a new Charmander every region, I’m begging you,” one fan commented.

Another chimed in: “Honestly, the only reason I’m even entertaining this is because giving Charizard another regional form sounds exactly like something Game Freak would pull.”

Here’s the issue, though: this is almost certainly complete nonsense.

Sure, 4chan has been right on rare occasions — but let’s be honest, if you predicted the moon would explode every day, eventually you'd be right. Anonymous users on the platform toss out random claims constantly, and sometimes, people just believe them because they want to.

As intriguing as this all may sound, it’s likely just one guy making stuff up for kicks.
